About the therapist

Hello! I'm Eve - I'm a certified massage therapist centered in Roanoke, Virginia. I first started receiving massages in 2009 - I was amazed not only by the beneficial effect it had physically for aches and pains, but also emotionally, fostering a profound sense of well-being and calm.  I noticed, too, a marked reduction in the frequency and severity in my migraine headaches as a result of receiving regular massage (further reduced with some yoga practice, and receiving acupuncture treatments).  Needless to say, I have massage (as a crucial puzzle piece) in finding my most balanced, health-aware self. I decided to pursue a way to give back this wonderful gift to the world, if I could!

I received my training at the Blue Ridge School of Massage and Yoga, graduating Magna Cum Laude from the 600-hr Medical Massage Program in July of 2013.  After that, I took continuing education at the school for their 150-hr Advanced Program, taking extra training in Reflexology, Hot Stones, Advanced Myofascial release techniques, Craniosacral therapy, Aromatherapy, Lymphatic Drainage, and Table Thai yoga massage.  I have taken further trainings in Myofascial release with Til Luchau and Chris Pohowsky, and have trained with Dr. James Mally in cupping and shoulder pain (relief) techniques.  I offer the former modalities as well as Swedish, Deep Tissue and trigger point therapies, and Shiatsu. I take classes and workshops in various modalities whenever I can, and am passionate about learning.  I also love painting, drawing, and making things in general, and sell my art works (and sometimes, plant propogations) here and in my etsy shop.

During a massage session I tend to blend different modalities together, based on what the client may need or benefit from that day.  *I usually blend Myofascial Release and Craniosacral techniques with Oriental bodywork (Shiatsu especially) during a typical session, sometimes also incorporating deep tissue or swedish techniques, depending on the needs of the client.  I look forward to hearing from you and treating you with the most relaxing, therapeutic massage experience possible!

*Please be aware that massage is not a substitution for medical care, and I cannot diagnose, treat, or cure conditions. I encourage clients to work with their doctor in finding a healthcare regime, and if massage is appropriate for you (with your doctor's consent) I look forward to assisting you in feeling your best and most vibrant, functional self!

The massage space

Earth & Sky is located in the scenic Grandin area of Roanoke, VA, just up the street from the Roanoke Ballet Theater, the Grandin Theater, and the Roanoke Natural Foods Co-op.  My office is on the first floor of the Grandin Commons building (next to the post office).  There is a small parking lot out front and plenty of nearby street parking, and a ramp allows for easy access into the building.  From the main lobby of the building, the massage office is through first door on the right.

During the massage session, I will do my best to make sure you feel safe, warm, properly draped and covered, and that you receive the appropriate amount of pressure. Please feel free to notify me if you need something adjusted or if you have questions!  This session will be all about your comfort.
